The Indiana Farm Bureau (INFB) has announced the winners of the 2024 INFB Photo Contest. Open to all INFB members 18 years or older, the contest sought to showcase the beauty of agriculture and rural life in Indiana.
The contest received over 275 entries, with participants submitting photographs between Aug. 1 and Sept. 30, 2024.
The top three winning photographs were selected by a panel of independent judges based on criteria such as the agricultural or rural focus, sharpness, subject, composition, technical quality, impact, and creativity.
The winners will receive monetary prizes and have their photos displayed at the 2024 INFB State Convention in French Lick, Indiana.
The first-place prize of $250 was awarded to Amanda Keil from Gibson County for her heartwarming image of a young girl with a sheep in a lush pasture, with cornfields stretching into the distance.
Keil, a natural light photographer, captured this photo of her daughter with one of the 40 sheep in their family flock. “This photo represents everything I love,” Keil shared. “It combines my love for photography, animals, and raising my children in agriculture.”
Second place and a $150 prize went to Kaleigh Frields from Spencer County. Her photo showcases a combine harvesting soybeans, with a young boy standing in the field, symbolizing the next generation of farmers.
Third place, with a $100 prize, was awarded to Barb Hatton of Decatur County, whose photo beautifully captures a planter at work during planting season, framed through the trees.
These winning images will be displayed at the 2024 INFB State Convention, taking place from December 12-14 at the French Lick Springs Resort. The event will bring together INFB members to celebrate Indiana’s agricultural heritage and future.
This annual contest highlights the importance of agriculture in Indiana and the creativity of its members in capturing rural life through photography.
