Farm to Capitol Event Celebrates Agriculture at Indiana Statehouse

Farm to Capitol Event Celebrates Agriculture at Indiana Statehouse

By Andi Anderson

Indiana’s Family of Farmers is bringing agriculture to the heart of the state’s government with its first-ever Farm to Capitol event at the Indiana Statehouse Bicentennial Plaza on March 18, 2025.

The celebration, held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., is part of National Ag Day and aims to highlight the significance of agriculture in Indiana.

The event will feature livestock displays, tractors, and interactive farm-themed activities. Visitors can enjoy agriculture-related trivia, delicious treats from food trucks, and freshly popped Indiana-grown popcorn.

The event offers a chance for legislators, state employees, and guests to engage with local farmers and learn more about Indiana’s agriculture industry.

This is the first National Ag Day celebration of this scale at the Indiana Statehouse, marking a unique opportunity for attendees to experience Indiana’s farming heritage up close.

The event not only raises awareness about agriculture’s role in the state’s economy but also allows the public to connect with those who produce their food.

With a strong farming community in Indiana, events like Farm to Capitol help bridge the gap between farmers, policymakers, and consumers. The initiative encourages support for local agriculture and showcases the contributions of farmers in providing food, fiber, and fuel.

Held at the Bicentennial Plaza, located between the Statehouse and government centers, the event promises a fun and educational experience for all attendees.

Farm to Capitol is set to be a remarkable way to celebrate Indiana’s agriculture, bringing the farming community and state leadership together for a day of learning and appreciation.
