Indiana fair glass barn insights

By Andi Anderson

On your next visit to the Indiana State Fair, be sure to check out the Indiana Soybean Alliance’s Glass Barn, located on the northside of the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center.

Opened by Indiana’s soybean farmers in 2013, the Glass Barn is the premier destination for Hoosiers to learn about soybean farming and the dedicated farmers behind it.

Funded through Indiana’s soybean checkoff, the Glass Barn offers a variety of engaging displays, games, and programs designed to educate visitors about farming, farmers’ connections with the land, and the technology they use.

Here are some of the educational tools you’ll find inside:

Combine Simulator: Climb aboard a life-sized combine harvester and virtually harvest soybeans in the Glass Barn Combine Simulator.

Soy You Think You Can Farm?: This interactive video game teaches visitors about agriculture from planting to harvest.

Photo Booths: Capture a memorable snapshot with an awesome backdrop to cherish forever.

Live Farmer Chats: Meet real farmers during daily chats at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. Ask questions and you could win a $25 grocery gift card or Dairy Bar milkshake coupons.

The Glass Barn is open every day throughout the Indiana State Fair from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., except for Mondays when the fair is closed. The Indiana State Fair runs through Sunday, August 18.

The Glass Barn provides a fun and informative experience for both kids and adults, making it a must-visit spot at the fair.
