Indiana Specialty Crop Grant Applications Open for 2025

By Andi Anderson

The Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) is currently accepting applications for the 2025 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP).

This initiative aims to fund projects that enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops within the state. A total of $416,350 is available for allocation through a competitive selection process.

Eligibility and Funding Details

Eligible applicants include for-profit and nonprofit entities, local government units, and public or private institutions of higher education. Sole proprietors may also apply, provided they are properly registered and meet all eligibility requirements. Individual applicants are not eligible.

Projects must focus on specialty crops, defined as fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, horticulture, and nursery crops, including floriculture. Each project should demonstrate a benefit to the broader specialty crop industry or the public and must not be designed to profit a single organization or individual.

The minimum award amount for a project is $50,000. The performance period for funded projects is from September 30, 2025, to September 29, 2027.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted online through the ISDA’s Grants Management System by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on June 4, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to review the Notice of Funding Opportunity and all supplemental documents before applying.
