National FFA Convention Draws Thousands Ahead of Centennial Celebration

National FFA Convention Draws Thousands Ahead of Centennial Celebration

By Andi Anderson

The 99th National FFA Convention & Expo welcomed 72,907 FFA members, advisors, and supporters to Indianapolis for four days of learning, recognition, leadership development, and community service. The event celebrated the achievements of students while showcasing the continued growth and impact of the National FFA Organization.

This year’s convention theme, “Evolve, Engage and Empower,” reflected the organization’s commitment to helping young people develop leadership skills and prepare for careers in agriculture. Today, FFA has more than 1.05 million student members and 9,591 local chapters across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The National FFA Organization continues to provide agricultural education through classroom learning, hands-on experiences, work-based training, and leadership programs. These opportunities help students build valuable skills for future careers and community involvement.

“This week, we watched our members do more than earn recognition,” said Christine White, chief program officer of the National FFA Organization. “They lifted each other up, shared what they’ve learned and gave back to the community. As we head into our 100th year, it’s clear the future of agriculture is in capable hands. These students will carry what they experienced in Indianapolis back to their chapters and communities, and that’s where the real impact begins.”

Throughout the event, students and educators participated in a wide range of educational activities. More than 13,500 students and teachers attended 154 workshops at the Indiana Convention Center. These sessions focused on leadership development, agricultural education, career readiness, and professional growth.

The National FFA Expo provided members with an opportunity to explore over 350 agricultural career paths. Students interacted with industry representatives and learned about future opportunities in the agricultural sector.

Service was also a major focus of the convention. More than 3,200 delegates and students volunteered at 27 nonprofit organizations throughout the Indianapolis area during the convention’s Days of Service program. In addition, the Chapter Connect program encouraged members from rural, suburban, and urban communities to share experiences and learn from one another.

During special recognition ceremonies at Lucas Oil Stadium, 5,818 American FFA Degrees, the organization’s highest honor, were awarded. Another 236 Honorary American FFA Degrees recognized individuals who have made significant contributions to agricultural education and FFA programs.

The convention also featured the election of the 2026-27 National FFA Officer Team, which will lead the organization into its historic centennial year. Josie Jennings of Ohio was elected National President, while Cameron Addington of Minnesota was elected National Secretary. Additional officers included Aiden Manley of Kentucky, Eastern Region Vice President; Joshua Nelson of Idaho, Western Region Vice President; Jazmin Palma of North Carolina, Southern Region Vice President; and Teagan Erbele of North Dakota, Central Region Vice President.

The National FFA Convention generates an estimated $42 million in annual economic impact for Indianapolis and will remain in the city through 2040. Looking ahead, the 100th National FFA Convention & Expo will take place from October 27-30, 2027, marking the beginning of a yearlong celebration honoring a century of leadership, personal growth, and career success through FFA. The milestone event is expected to inspire the next generation of agricultural leaders while celebrating the organization's remarkable legacy.
