By Andi Anderson

Purdue Extension is set to host the Purdue Sprayer School on January 31, offering vital training for commercial and private farm applicators.

This one-day program runs from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (EST) at the Vincennes University Agriculture Center in Vincennes, Indiana. Lunch is included as part of the program.

The workshop aims to enhance the skills of both new and experienced applicators in field crop sprayer use and maintenance under Indiana conditions. Key topics include sprayer technologies, weed identification, mixing procedures, calibration, drift management, machinery maintenance, winterization, and compliance with regulations.

Participants will gain valuable insights into safely and efficiently applying chemical and fertilizer products, ensuring compliance with state guidelines. The program also benefits attendees by offering Commercial Applicator and Certified Crop Adviser Credits, subject to approval.

To attend, participants must register and pay a $50 fee by January 21. Registration can be completed online at https://tinyurl.com/37yh73ct. Alternatively, payments can be sent by mail to Purdue Extension – Knox County. Checks should be made payable to Purdue CES Ed Fund and mailed to 4259 N. Purdue Road, Vincennes, IN 47591.

For additional questions or to request an invoice, contact Valerie Clingerman at Purdue Extension – Knox County at 812-882-3509.

The Purdue Sprayer School provides a unique opportunity for applicators to improve their skills and stay updated on the latest technologies and regulations.

It ensures they are equipped to manage their operations effectively and responsibly. Farmers and applicators are encouraged to participate in this valuable training event.
