Tuesday the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and Department of Homeland Security co-hosted the 2018 Operation Stay Afloat Conference. The primary focus of this year's conference was working together in times of natural and man-made disasters
with the theme "Working Together Towards Resilience."
The conference is an opportunity for federal, State, and local officials to meet each other and others interested in a variety of floodplain topics.
Topics included low-head dams, planning for flood resilience, trees and stormwater, urban forest resiliency, and damage assessments from floodplain administrator and emergency management perspectives.
