Craig Carter has been named regional vice president of agricultural lending at Farm Credit Mid-America, serving west central Indiana. With a strong background in agriculture, Carter brings leadership experience from AgriGold, Bane-Welker Equipment, and Syngenta.
As a native of Mulberry, Carter has personal ties to the region and will work closely with farmers across 16 counties. He will lead Farm Credit Mid-America’s operations in Crawfordsville, Kokomo, Lafayette, Rensselaer, and Williamsport, focusing on building lasting relationships with local producers.
Farmers rely on consistent financial support to manage their businesses, invest in key assets, and navigate market challenges. Carter aims to offer insights and resources that help producers make informed decisions, ensuring long-term success.
“Producers today face complex financial decisions while managing risks and transitioning operations to the next generation,” said Carter. “My goal is to be a reliable resource, helping them confidently handle challenges and opportunities.”
Carter’s leadership will strengthen Farm Credit Mid-America’s commitment to supporting rural communities and agriculture. His expertise aligns with the organization’s mission to provide financial stability to farmers.

Carter holds a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness management and a master’s degree in agricultural economics from Purdue University. He also earned an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
Beyond his professional role, Carter coaches middle school basketball at Clinton Prairie School and is involved with the Clinton County Community Foundation and Mulberry United Methodist Church.
