The American Dairy Association Indiana will host the 51st Annual Fastest Rookie Celebration at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 20. This special luncheon recognizes rookie drivers of the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 and honors the tradition of the “Winners Drink Milk” ceremony in Victory Circle.
Three rookie drivers are part of this year’s celebration, alongside two milk presenters representing Indiana’s dairy farming community. This year is historic as both presenters are women—marking only the second time in the event’s history that female dairy farmers have held both the veteran and rookie roles.
This invitation-only luncheon is a chance for attendees to meet the drivers and presenters and to learn about Indiana’s proud dairy heritage. The “Winners Drink Milk” tradition has become a symbolic gesture at the Indy 500, celebrating both victory and the hardworking farmers behind the milk.
Organizers also revealed the Indiana State Fair’s official milkshake flavor for 2025, which will be served at the Dairy Bar during the fair. The announcement is a much-anticipated highlight, connecting the racing event to a beloved summer tradition.
The celebration takes place at the Gallagher Pavilion at IMS, with guests gathering from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. It offers a unique blend of motorsport excitement and appreciation for Indiana’s vibrant dairy industry.
The American Dairy Association Indiana supports dairy farmers by promoting nutritional education and industry awareness across the state. Through events like this, they continue to showcase the vital role agriculture plays in both local culture and community pride.
