Indiana FFA students recently took centre stage in the Make48 competition, where their creativity and problem-solving skills highlighted the future of agriculture. Sponsored by Corteva Agriscience, the challenge tasked seven FFA teams with constructing interactive displays that educate the public on agriculture’s diverse and positive impact.
An Exciting Challenge for Young Innovators
Held in Indianapolis, the 48-hour competition featured high school teams from across Indiana, including Hamilton Heights FFA, Agricadabra, EH Royals, Mud Flaps, HSE FFA, Clever Connersville FFA, and Fishers High School FFA. Each team consisted of three students and a team captain. The event emphasized Corteva’s commitment to agriculture education and innovation.
The teams worked at the Fishers Maker Playground, a cutting-edge facility designed to foster creativity. With expert guidance, students developed ideas, created one-minute videos, and polished their presentations.
Celebrating Creativity and Leadership
A panel of judges evaluated the teams based on creativity, problem-solving, and presentation skills. While the final winner remains a surprise, one of the Hamilton County teams secured first place for Best Innovation.
“This competition provided an incredible opportunity for FFA members to grow and demonstrate their talents,” said Amanda Mullins, Indiana FFA Assistant Director. “It showcased the outstanding creativity and leadership of our students.”
