The Greater Peoria Farm Show, happening from December 3 to 5, 2024, at the Peoria Civic Center, is an unmissable event for farmers and agricultural enthusiasts.
This three-day event is free to attend, with complimentary parking provided in the civic center parking lots.
Attendees can explore the latest agricultural research and meet experts from the University of Illinois Extension.
The Illinois Extension booth will be open throughout the event: Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Here, farmers can find guidance on farm leasing, grain marketing, soil fertility, drainage, estate planning, and digital technology.
This year’s event includes an exciting lineup of presentations by Illinois Extension educators and University of Illinois faculty. Topics include grain market outlooks, nitrogen efficiency, weed science, sustainable farming, and estate planning. Notable speakers include Joe Janzen, Nicholas Paulson, and Duane Friend.
The event schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, Dec. 3: Highlights include talks on grain market challenges, farm income expectations, and farming with disabilities.
Wednesday, Dec. 4: Topics range from nitrogen efficiency and pasture rental to the USDA Farm Bill.
Thursday, Dec. 5: Sessions cover safe farming practices, farm succession planning, and home horticulture.
