The Purdue Women in Agriculture Team is promoting and recognizing the important role that women play in Indiana agriculture. The annual awards program acknowledges the achievements of women in agriculture, inspiring and encouraging future generations of female leaders in the field.
There are three award categories available for nomination: the Emerging Women in Agriculture Leadership Award for high school or undergraduate students, the Women in Agriculture Leadership Award for those in agribusiness or policymaking positions, and the Women in Agriculture Achievement Award for women directly involved in home farm operations.
The nomination process is simple and accessible, with forms and guidelines available online. Self-nominations and nominations made by others are both accepted, but all applications must include two letters of support and be submitted by May 1 to Beth Vansickle, who chairs the Purdue Women in Agriculture awards committee.
Winners will be recognized during the Celebration of Agriculture ceremony at the 2023 Indiana State Fair. The Purdue Women in Agriculture Team provides educational opportunities and resources for women in agriculture and organizes the Midwest Women in Agriculture conference.
