Indiana AgrAbility, together with Easterseals Crossroads, will host a comprehensive technology exhibition at Purdue University's Beck Agricultural Center on April 13th. The expo offers a full day of immersive, hands-on learning experiences with assistive technology, farm visits, demonstrations, and training programs for agricultural experts.
The primary objective of the event is to empower individuals to comprehend the physical challenges related to farm machinery and assistive technology. Paul Jones, Indiana AgrAbility's education and resource specialist, affirms that this occasion is a fantastic opportunity to fathom the issues faced by farmers and understand the available technologies to aid them.
The breakout sessions' diverse topics, including worksite assessments, assistive technology databases, and working with underserved populations, will be an excellent supplement to the event.
Agricultural professionals of all types are welcome to attend, but vocational rehabilitation counselors and area supervisors, occupational therapists, physical therapists, Extension professionals, and AgrAbility staff members from other states are particularly encouraged to participate.
Indiana AgrAbility's principal objective is to collaborate with experts to assist Indiana farmers with disabilities. This event's purpose is to provide these professionals with a more in-depth comprehension of the challenges encountered by farmers with disabilities and how assistive technology can support them.
