Indiana grain board meets August 29

By Andi Anderson

The Indiana Grain Indemnity Corporation (IGIC) has announced that it will hold a public board of directors meeting on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. ET. The meeting will take place at the Indiana State Library, specifically in the History Reference Room located at 315 W. Ohio Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.

This meeting provides an opportunity for the public to observe the discussions and decisions made by the IGIC board. The meeting agenda is expected to cover important topics related to the state’s grain indemnity program, which plays a critical role in protecting farmers against financial losses due to grain elevator failures.

For those unable to attend in person, the IGIC is offering a virtual viewing option. Attendees who choose to view the meeting online will have the opportunity to watch and listen to the proceedings, although they will not be able to speak or participate during the public comment period.

The IGIC encourages all interested parties, including farmers, grain industry professionals, and members of the public, to attend the meeting or tune in virtually to stay informed about the latest developments in the state’s grain indemnity program.

This meeting is an important part of the IGIC’s ongoing efforts to maintain transparency and ensure that Indiana’s grain producers are well-informed about the protections available to them under the indemnity program.

By holding public meetings, the IGIC aims to foster greater understanding and engagement with the farming community and the public at large.

Mark your calendars for August 29 and join the meeting either in person at the Indiana State Library or virtually from the comfort of your home or office. This is a valuable opportunity to learn more about the IGIC’s work and the measures in place to safeguard Indiana’s grain industry.
