Purdue Extension is set to participate in the Indiana State Fair 2026, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore agriculture, science, sustainability, and healthy living through a variety of interactive exhibits and educational activities.
The event will bring together people from across Indiana and provide valuable learning experiences for individuals of all ages.
The Indiana State Fair is recognized as one of the state's major annual events, attracting families, students, farmers, and community members. Purdue Extension's participation reflects its ongoing commitment to education, innovation, and public outreach.
Visitors can enjoy a wide range of hands-on exhibits designed to make learning both fun and informative. One of the major attractions is Woods on Wheels, which introduces guests to forestry resources and conservation practices.
The Block Party exhibit will provide engaging activities for children and families, while the Master Gardener area will offer insights into gardening, plant care, and sustainable landscaping practices.
Agriculture and food education will also be highlighted throughout the event. Visitors can sample popcorn and learn more about Indiana's agricultural industry and the important role farmers play in producing food and other resources.
Educational displays will help attendees better understand agricultural practices and the connection between farming and everyday life.
Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics will be showcased through the Sphero STEM Activity, which encourages participants to explore technology and problem-solving skills in an interactive environment. These activities are designed to inspire curiosity and support learning among students and young visitors.
Guests can also visit Pioneer Village, where they can experience historical demonstrations and gain a deeper appreciation of rural life and agricultural heritage. The Pathway to Water Quality exhibit will focus on environmental stewardship and the importance of protecting water resources through responsible land and natural resource management.
Beyond these featured attractions, Purdue Extension will offer additional educational activities, demonstrations, and learning opportunities throughout the fair.
The event aims to raise awareness about healthy lifestyles, environmental sustainability, and community development while encouraging visitor participation.
The Indiana State Fair 2026 will take place from August 7 to August 23, 2026, at 1202 E. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46205. The program will run throughout each day of the event.
By combining education, agriculture, technology, and community engagement, Purdue Extension's presence at the Indiana State Fair will provide an enjoyable and informative experience for visitors while promoting lifelong learning and sustainable practices.
