Top 10 Teams Announced in the 2024 Farm Bureau Ag Innovation Challenge


The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) has announced the top 10 teams in the 2024 Ag Innovation Challenge. The competition, which is in its 10th year, is designed to showcase innovative solutions to the challenges facing agriculture.

The 10 semi-finalist teams are:

• anu (Indiana): a company that is developing a new type of fertilizer that is more efficient and environmentally friendly.

• Appanoose Manufactured Products (Iowa): a company that is developing a new type of irrigation system that is more efficient and water-saving.

• Barn Owl Precision Agriculture (Colorado): a company that is developing a new type of drone that can be used to survey crops and livestock.

• Idem Irrigation (Nebraska): a company that is developing a new type of irrigation system that is more efficient and water-saving.

• ReproHealth Technologies (Indiana): a company that is developing a new type of vaccine for livestock that can help to prevent diseases.

• Secret Garden Bees (North Carolina): a company that is developing a new type of beehive that is more efficient and sustainable.

• Share Farm (Washington): a company that is developing a new platform that allows farmers to share resources and equipment.

• Smooth Ag (Texas): a company that is developing a new type of software that can help farmers to manage their farms more efficiently.

• UAV-IQ Precision Agriculture (California): a company that is developing a new type of drone that can be used to survey crops and livestock.

• Udder Ways LLC (New York): a company that is developing a new type of milking system that is more comfortable for cows.

The 10 semi-finalist teams will compete at the AFBF Convention in January 2024 to advance to the final round. The four finalist teams will receive an additional $5,000 each, and the winner will receive a total of $50,000.

The Ag Innovation Challenge is a great opportunity for rural entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative ideas and solutions to the challenges facing agriculture. The competition provides much-needed funding and support for these businesses, and it helps to raise awareness of the importance of innovation in agriculture.
