Area 2 Pesticide Applicator Program Scheduled November

By Andi Anderson

The 2025 Area 2 Pesticide Applicator Program will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at three locations in Indiana:

  • Crawford County Fairgrounds, Marengo – 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
  • Washington County Government Building, Salem – 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
  • Scott County Fairgrounds, Scottsburg – 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to RSVP by Monday, November 3, but it is not required. Contact emails and phone numbers for each location are provided for RSVP and questions.

The program covers key topics relevant to pesticide applicators. Nathan Davis and Mitch Trimble from the Office of Indiana State Chemist (OISC) will present regulatory updates. Purdue Weed Science Specialist Tommy Butts will discuss row crop weed management and optimizing the use of spray drones.

Thanks to sponsorship from the Indiana Corn Marketing Council and Indiana Soybean Alliance, the program is free to attend. Participants can earn Private Applicator (PARP) credits as well as Commercial Applicator credits in multiple categories (1, 2, 3a, 3b, 4, 5, 6, 7a, 7b, 7d, 8, 11, & RT). Attendees receive credit for participating in just one session.

This program provides valuable, research-based guidance for farmers and applicators looking to improve crop management practices, stay updated on regulations, and safely use technology like spray drones. It is an important opportunity for professionals in agriculture to gain continuing education and enhance their expertise in pesticide application.

For more information or to RSVP, contact the respective Purdue Extension representative at each location. These sessions support informed, safe, and efficient pesticide use across Indiana farms.
