Indiana Farm Bureau (INFB) Health Plans continue to make a strong impact in helping Hoosiers access affordable and dependable health care. The program, which offers a variety of plans for members, now covers more than 11,000 individuals through over 7,800 enrolled plans.
INFB Health Plans provide options that include individual and family health plans, dental and vision coverage, and Medicare Supplement Insurance. Members benefit from access to UnitedHealthcare’s nationwide provider network, ensuring convenient and quality medical care.
One of the program’s most notable advantages is affordability. Families can save between 25% and 50% on premiums compared to unsubsidized Affordable Care Act marketplace plans. These savings make the plans especially attractive for those facing high costs or limited coverage options.
The fourth quarter of each year marks the open enrollment period for most health plans. However, INFB members can apply for coverage at any time, making it a flexible option for individuals and small businesses seeking alternatives to traditional insurance.
“As individuals and families evaluate their health benefits, they are seeing premium increases across the board,” said Steve Allen, INFB Health Plans manager. “INFB Health Plans are an affordable option not only for farmers and agriculture professionals, but also for folks outside of the agriculture space.”
Amber Haan, a small business owner in Tippecanoe County, shared that switching to INFB Health Plans saved her plumbing business around $60,000 annually. The change also helped employees receive better coverage at lower costs.
INFB Health Plans are open to small businesses with 50 or fewer employees, providing an opportunity for reliable and cost-effective group health coverage.
Membership in INFB is required to apply, and individuals must be members for at least 30 days before applying for a Traditional Health or dental/vision plan. Coverage is available statewide, with plans remaining portable anywhere within Indiana.
