Dr. Jeffrey Harker, a distinguished Purdue University alumnus, has been honored with the Indiana Pork Industry Meritorious Service Award for his exceptional contributions to the swine industry. Harker, a graduate of Purdue’s Veterinary Medicine program in 1994, has dedicated his career to advancing swine health and practices.
For nearly three decades, Dr. Harker has served as a swine veterinarian at Swine Health Services, now known as AMVC. Over the years, he has become a well-known figure in the swine health community, working to improve animal health, industry standards, and veterinary practices.
Dr. Harker’s influence extends beyond his role as a practitioner. He has also served as past president of the Indiana Pork Board of Directors, where he worked to address key issues affecting pork producers in the state. Additionally, he served as president of the American Association of Swine Veterinarians, further showcasing his leadership in the field.
His commitment to the swine industry has earned him a respected reputation among his peers. Throughout his career, Dr. Harker has been recognized for his tireless work to improve the welfare of pigs and the overall quality of pork production.
In his personal life, Dr. Harker and his wife, Traci, are proud parents of four children and three grandchildren. His dedication to both his family and his profession has made him a highly regarded figure in the agricultural community.
Dr. Harker’s recognition by Indiana Pork highlights the significant role he has played in shaping the future of the swine industry in Indiana and beyond.
