The 2023 Indiana Land Use Summit, organized by Purdue Extension and the Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA), is set to provide valuable insights into rural development trends and strategies. Aimed at local government employees, plan commission members, and conservation agencies, the summit will take place at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds on August 30th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET.
The event will commence with a policy update panel featuring State Representative Kendell Culp and representatives from ISDA, The Nature Conservancy, and the Indiana Chapter of the American Planning Association. This panel will offer a comprehensive overview of the latest policy developments and initiatives in land use planning.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions covering crucial topics such as housing and planning, tools for improved planning and zoning processes, and strategies for addressing rural development trends. The American Farmland Trust will also present during the summit, contributing valuable insights.
By bringing together stakeholders and decision-makers, the Indiana Land Use Summit aims to facilitate informed discussions and equip participants with the knowledge and strategies needed to foster sustainable and prosperous rural communities.
