Indiana Pork has officially named Mark Johnson as its president for the year 2025. Johnson, a dedicated pork and grain farmer from Whitley County, brings a strong commitment to advancing Indiana’s pork industry while supporting local producers.
As the new president, Johnson has laid out key priorities to guide his leadership. He aims to strengthen communication among producers, develop future industry leaders, and protect farmers' freedom to operate without unnecessary restrictions.
His leadership is centred on helping farmers thrive and maintaining the positive image of pork production in Indiana.
Johnson also plans to focus on educating consumers about the high standards of Indiana-raised pork. He believes sharing the story of sustainable and responsible pork production helps build trust and support among consumers.
In addition to Johnson’s appointment, Indiana Pork announced two new members to its board of directors. Kyle Crowder from Fountain County and Nate Lenig from Keystone Cooperative have joined the board, adding new voices and perspectives to the organization’s leadership.
With Johnson leading the way and new board members in place, Indiana Pork is preparing to meet both current and future challenges in the industry. The team is dedicated to supporting producers, encouraging innovation, and promoting Indiana pork products to a wider audience.
The new leadership reflects a commitment to building on the organization’s strong foundation while bringing fresh ideas to the table.
By focusing on leadership development and producer advocacy, Indiana Pork is ready to continue its mission of strengthening the pork industry across the state.
As 2025 approaches, farmers and industry partners can expect a renewed focus on growth, sustainability, and community support under Mark Johnson’s guidance.
