Purdue Students Shine in 2023 Innovation Challenge

Great news! Purdue University students have impressed in the 2023 Innovation Challenge organized by DIAL Ventures. The challenge showcased the smart projects EcoTrack and YieldSmart, highlighting the students' innovative ideas in farming tech and digital solutions.

According to Lourival Monaco, Research Manager at DIAL Ventures, partnering with AgriNovus for this challenge aligns perfectly with their goal of promoting Purdue's innovation hub. This collaboration helps students gain visibility for their ideas and enriches their learning journey in entrepreneurship.

EcoTrack, crafted by Corey Tuinstra, won $4,000 for its digital audit system improving efficiency in farming. Another cool project, YieldSmart by Anton Josifovski and Isha Shamim, bagged $2,000 for its AI-driven precision farming solution.

Geoff Zentz, AgriNovus Senior Director of Innovation, praised DIAL Ventures for offering expertise and data access, benefiting all participating teams, including the winners.

The challenge recognized other participants too. FiberX from Hammond, Indiana, took home the $25,000 grand prize.

This Innovation Challenge, started in 2020, has become a big platform for budding talent in ag-bioscience. Past winners' success stories, including follow-on funding and acquisitions, underline the challenge's positive impact.

As the 2023 Challenge wraps up, DIAL Ventures and AgriNovus Indiana applaud all participants, especially the creative Purdue teams, for their potential and innovative ideas.
