Vegetable farmers across Northwest Indiana will have an opportunity to gather, learn, and connect at the upcoming Northwest Indiana Vegetable Farmer Meeting scheduled for February 2, 2026.
The event is designed to support growers by providing valuable updates, practical information, and access to extension resources that can help improve farm operations and vegetable production practices.
The meeting will take place from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Central Time at the Porter County Public Library, Valparaiso Branch, located at 103 Jefferson Street in Valparaiso, Indiana. This convenient public location allows farmers from across the region to participate easily and benefit from the information shared during the program.
Although the full program schedule and registration details have not yet been released, farmers are encouraged to check back soon for more information.
Meetings of this kind typically highlight production challenges, new research findings, pest and disease updates, and best practices that support vegetable growers throughout the growing season. Extension specialists often share guidance that is based on research and local conditions, helping farmers make informed decisions on their farms.
The event is part of ongoing efforts by the Extension and the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture to support the agricultural community.
Vegetable farming is an important part of Indiana’s local food system, and these meetings play a key role in strengthening connections between farmers, educators, and industry experts.
The meeting time is listed as 12:30 to 3:30 AM IST to accommodate audiences viewing the announcement from different time zones, but local participants should follow the Central Time schedule.
Growers are encouraged to stay tuned for updates on registration and program topics as the date approaches. Events like this help build a strong farming network and provide practical information that supports successful vegetable production across the region.
