Tom Miller Joins Indiana Farm Bureau State Board Leadership

By Andi Anderson

Indiana Farm Bureau has welcomed Tom Miller of Allen County to its board of directors as the new representative for District 2.

The district includes Allen, DeKalb, Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, and Whitley counties. Miller officially began his term at the close of the Indiana Ag Gathering in December 2025.

Miller has been involved in agriculture throughout his life and has more than 40 years of experience in agribusiness. His career has included positions ranging from sales to upper management. He has also served the Allen County Farm Bureau as vice president from 2016 to 2020 and president from 2020 to 2025.

"I'm honored to serve on the INFB board of directors representing District 2," said Miller. "My goal is to bring the voices of northeast Indiana's agricultural community to the INFB board. I believe we each have a responsibility to our community and industry to ensure agriculture's voice is truly collective and representative of everyone involved."

Miller grew up on a small livestock farm in Dearborn County, where he was active in 4-H. He later earned a degree in agricultural economics from Purdue University.

After graduating, he moved to Allen County and began his career as a crop salesman with Allen County Co-op, which later became Ag Plus. During his career, he advised farmers on topics including crop budgets, business planning, and estate planning.

He is also dedicated to promoting farm safety. As Allen County Farm Bureau president, Miller organized a grain bin rescue program in partnership with local fire departments. He has completed many continuing education courses and was part of the first group to earn Certified Crop Advisor credentials in Indiana.

“I am thrilled to welcome Tom to the INFB board of directors,” said INFB President Randy Kron. “His background in agribusiness and leadership as Allen County Farm Bureau’s former county president demonstrates his dedication to amplifying the voice of Hoosier farmers and protecting our rural communities.”

Miller lives in New Haven, Indiana, with his wife Denise. They have two daughters and five grandchildren. He is also an active member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Haven.
