The Indiana Horticultural Conference and Expo is scheduled for January 14-15 at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds in Danville. Registration is open online until January 7, offering both one- and two-day attendance options. Admission includes meals.

The event provides valuable learning opportunities for growers, crop consultants, and others interested in horticulture. Topics include fruit and vegetable production, food safety, controlled environment agriculture, pest management, high tunnel production, and business marketing strategies.

Highlights of the conference include an apple cider contest and a trade show featuring vendors offering seeds, fertilizers, plant protectants, and irrigation systems. Nonprofit organizations focused on soil health and food distribution will also be present.

“The historical core mission of this conference is to bring fruit and vegetable growers, researchers, extensionists and allied industry members from all different parts of the state together to learn in a spirit of fellowship and improve the lives and livelihoods of Hoosier farmers,” said Stephen Meyers, IHC co-chair and associate professor of weed science at Purdue University. “We look forward to this event every year, and 2025 is no exception.”

Participants can earn credits for private and commercial pesticide applicators as well as certified crop advisers. Private pesticide applicators can also attend recertification sessions for a $10 on-site fee, requiring their license number for credit.
