The Indiana Farm Bureau (INFB) is set to host the Ag Threats & Security Summit on March 25 at the Tallison Hotel in Carmel, Indiana, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
This event, organized in partnership with the FBI Indianapolis, Beck’s, and Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, aims to equip farmers with knowledge about biosecurity, cybersecurity, and physical security in agriculture.
Attendees will hear from industry experts on emerging threats and best practices to safeguard farms against biological, physical, and digital risks. With agriculture contributing $35.1 billion to Indiana’s economy, protecting farms is vital for both local and national security.
Randy Kron, INFB president, emphasized the importance of staying informed about evolving threats in the agriculture industry. Speakers from FBI Indianapolis, Beck’s, Pierce Aerospace, and Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance will provide insights on biosecurity challenges, threat prevention, and safe drone usage in farming.
Megan Ritter, INFB’s senior executive director, highlighted the role of technology in increasing farm efficiency while also raising security concerns. She stressed the need for farmers and law enforcement to collaborate on protecting critical infrastructure and food systems.
The summit is free for INFB members and law enforcement officials, while nonmembers can attend for $50. Registration is required, with a deadline of March 11. Interested participants can secure their spot at www.infb.org/events, as space is limited.
