Jennings County Ag PARP Brings Crop Management Updates

Jennings County Ag PARP Brings Crop Management Updates

By Andi Anderson

The Jennings County Ag PARP for the Southeast District will provide important crop management information for farmers and agricultural professionals in early 2026.

The event is scheduled for February 10, 2026, and will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. It will be held at the Pioneer location in Butlerville, Indiana.

This Extension-led program focuses on practical and timely topics that support informed decision making during a challenging production environment.

The event will include updates on corn and soybean diseases, helping growers better understand current risks and management strategies. Disease pressure can change each season, and staying informed is essential for protecting crop health and yield potential.

Another key topic will be managing fertilizer under tight budgets. With rising input costs, farmers are looking for ways to improve efficiency without sacrificing productivity.

Extension educators will share guidance on fertilizer planning and best management practices that support both economic and environmental goals.

The program will also explore the use of biological products to reduce crop stress and improve fertilizer efficiency. These tools are gaining interest as growers seek innovative options to support soil health and nutrient use.

The session will explain how biologicals work and where they may fit into crop management plans.

In addition, attendees will receive a 2026 regulatory update related to the Endangered Species Act. Regulatory changes can affect farm operations, and understanding new requirements is important for compliance and long-term planning. This update will help producers stay aware of potential impacts on crop production practices.

The event is organized through Extension and supported by the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology. It will be led by Extension educators with expertise in agronomy and plant health. The program is designed to be educational, practical, and accessible for producers of all experience levels.

For more information, participants may contact the local Extension educator listed for the event. By attending the Jennings County Ag PARP, farmers can gain valuable knowledge, ask questions, and prepare more confidently for the upcoming growing season.
