The Indiana Soybean Alliance (ISA) is inviting farmer leaders to join its 24-member board, which is responsible for overseeing the investment of soybean checkoff funds in initiatives aimed at expanding markets for Indiana soybeans. These programs also focus on adding value for soybean farmers and supporting efforts in environmental, social, and economic sustainability. The ISA Board of Directors represents roughly 20,000 soybean farmers across the state, ensuring that their checkoff contributions are invested wisely.
This year, eight board positions are up for election. Applications for the 2025 election must be submitted by Friday, February 28. The election will cover four districts, with incumbents completing their terms in Districts 1, 2, and 3, and a new candidate needed for District 4.
District 1 includes counties such as Benton, Lake, St. Joseph, and Wabash, with Joe Stoller and John Peters finishing their terms. District 2 covers counties like Adams, Delaware, and Madison, where Jenna Scott and Mark Wenning are completing their terms. District 3, which includes counties such as Clay, Dubois, and Vanderburgh, is currently represented by Jason Misiniec and Larry Rusch, both of whom are finishing their first terms.
In District 4, at least one new candidate is needed, as Mike Koehne will term off after serving his maximum term. Kevin Burbrink of Seymour is completing his second term. The counties in District 4 include Bartholomew, Boone, Clark, Hamilton, and Washington.
To be eligible to run for a seat, candidates must meet certain requirements:
- Have contributed to the federal soybean checkoff within the last two years.
- Certify ownership or shared ownership and risk of loss of soybeans.
- Complete and submit a director expectation statement by February 28.

Election ballots will be mailed to soybean farmers this spring, and results will be announced in the summer.
