Purdue Extension Brings Agriculture Learning to Indiana State Fair

By Andi Anderson

Purdue Extension will take part in the Indiana State Fair 2026, offering visitors a chance to explore agriculture, sustainability, and healthy living through interactive displays and activities. The event will be held from August 7 to August 23, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This program aims to connect people from across the state and provide useful knowledge related to agriculture and daily life. Visitors attending the fair will have the opportunity to learn about modern farming practices, environmental care, and ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The activities are designed to be engaging, educational, and suitable for people of all age groups, including students and families.

The Purdue Extension exhibit will feature a wide range of attractions. Popular highlights include Woods on Wheels, which introduces visitors to forestry and natural resources, and the Block Party, where participants can enjoy fun and interactive learning experiences. The Master Gardener section will provide guidance on gardening techniques and plant care.

Visitors can also enjoy popcorn samples, take part in the Sphero STEM activity, and explore Pioneer Village to understand traditional agricultural practices. Another important attraction is the Pathway to Water Quality exhibit, which teaches about water conservation and environmental protection. These activities help people understand how agriculture and natural resources are connected to everyday life.

The Indiana State Fair serves as an important platform for Purdue Extension to share research based knowledge with the public. It encourages awareness about sustainable farming methods and promotes community involvement in environmental protection.

The event will run throughout the day at the fairgrounds located at 1202 E. 38th St., Indianapolis. Visitors are encouraged to check the Indiana State Fair website and the Purdue Extension State Fair webpage for any updates before attending.
