Purdue Sprayer School Builds Skills in Safe Crop Application

Purdue Extension is once again offering its annual Sprayer School to help farm applicators improve their knowledge and skills in crop chemical application.

The program is scheduled for January 30 and is designed for both new and experienced commercial and private applicators who work with row crops.

The one-day workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time at the Vincennes University Agriculture Center in southern Indiana. Lunch is included as part of the program.

The event focuses on practical learning that supports safe, efficient, and accurate use of field crop sprayers under local farming conditions.

Training topics will cover important areas such as sprayer safety, proper equipment maintenance, weed identification, and correct mixing of spray materials. Participants will also learn about tank compatibility, common application problems, and troubleshooting methods.
