This year's winners include:
1. Rachel Hyde, Hamilton County:
Rachel Hyde is the recipient of the Rising Star Award, a newly introduced accolade for 2023. This award recognizes members who actively engage with Farm Bureau, communities, and Collegiate Farm Bureau or YF&AP programs. Hyde's dedication and involvement have earned her a $2,000 cash prize and a fully funded trip to the 2024 American Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Conference in Omaha, Nebraska.
2. Chelsea O’Brien, Spencer County:
Chelsea O’Brien has received the Excellence in Agriculture Award. This award acknowledges members who contribute significantly to Farm Bureau and the agriculture sector despite not primarily deriving income from farming. O'Brien's achievements have earned her an $11,000 cash prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to compete at the 2024 American Farm Bureau convention in Salt Lake City, Utah.
3. Mark and Jessica Wenning, Henry County:
Mark and Jessica Wenning have been honored with the Achievement Award. This award is given to members who derive their income mainly from farming and showcase leadership in farm management. The Wennings have earned an $11,000 cash prize, a fully funded trip to the 2024 American Farm Bureau convention, and the David L. Leising Memorial Award.
These awards recognize the dedication of young individuals in Indiana's agriculture sector. The winners will be celebrated during the INFB state convention in December, highlighting their contributions to the industry and their communities.
