Purdue Extension, along with the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, is organizing a webinar series focused on greenhouse production of specialty crops. This initiative aims to provide farmers, students, and agriculture enthusiasts with valuable knowledge about modern greenhouse practices.
The webinar series will run from August through November and will be held once a month on the third Wednesday. Each session will take place from noon to 1:00 p.m., making it convenient for participants to join during midday hours.
The sessions are designed to be informative and practical, focusing on the cultivation of flowers, vegetables, and fruits in controlled greenhouse environments.
Greenhouse farming is becoming increasingly important as it allows growers to produce crops in a controlled setting. This helps in improving yield, protecting crops from harsh weather, and managing pests and diseases more effectively.
Through this webinar series, participants will learn about advanced techniques and best practices that can improve productivity and sustainability.
The program is free of cost, making it accessible to a wide audience. However, interested participants must complete the registration process to attend. After registration, connection details and access links will be shared with participants before each session. This ensures a smooth and organized learning experience.
Participants will also have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in the field. For any queries related to the event, attendees can reach out to Lori Jolly Brown or Dr. Krishna Nemali, who are involved in organizing and supporting the program.
