Purdue University is set to graduate more than 3,600 students during its winter commencement ceremonies on Sunday, Dec. 15, at Elliott Hall of Music. The event will feature three divisions, with U.S. Representative and Purdue alumnus Jim Baird delivering the keynote address at all ceremonies.
Commencement Details:
Division I (9:30 a.m.): Agriculture, Health and Human Sciences, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, and Mitch Daniels School of Business. Division II (2:30 p.m.): Education, Liberal Arts, Science, Polytechnic Institute, and joint programs. Division III (7:00 p.m.): Engineering (excluding Agricultural and Biological Engineering).
The winter class includes 2,345 undergraduates, 1,241 graduate students, 15 professional program students, and 50 graduates from the Purdue Polytechnic Institute’s statewide programs. Notably, this marks the first commencement for students from Purdue’s new urban campus in Indianapolis.
Key student responders include:
Omar Abdel-Reheem (Finance and Economics): Plans to join Vista Equity Partners as an analyst. Nicholas Chrysogelos (Aviation Management and Atmospheric Science): Will work in air traffic control strategy at United Airlines.
Nicole Nagel (Biomedical Engineering): Plans to attend medical school at the University of Cincinnati. The ceremonies are ticketed, and clear bag policies apply. Livestream options will be available on the Purdue News YouTube channel, with links on the commencement website.
About Jim Baird: A decorated Vietnam veteran and long-time public servant, Baird represents Indiana’s 4th Congressional District. He is a Purdue alumnus with degrees in animal science and extensive contributions to agriculture and public policy.
