Women Farmers Take Center Stage at Agribusiness Summit

By Jamie Martin

Women in agriculture will be in the spotlight at an upcoming agribusiness summit designed to bring together farmers, ranchers and agricultural professionals from around the world. Taking place in New Orleans, September 22-24, 2026, in New Orleans, Louisianna, the event will provide a platform for learning, collaboration, and professional development.

Attendees can participate in a variety of educational sessions focused on important agricultural topics. Industry experts will discuss market conditions, sustainability efforts, risk management strategies, and changing workplace trends that affect modern agriculture.

“It created both an internal community and an external foundation,” said Michele Fite, Chief Commercial Officer at ELO Life Systems and WIA Advisory Board member. “It resonated then and still does. Because it’s not about checking a box. It’s about building real relationships, confidence, and momentum for women in an industry that needs all three.”

Leadership development is a major part of the program. Workshops will help participants strengthen communication skills, build confidence, and prepare leadership roles within their organizations and communities.

Female farmers and ranchers will play a central role throughout the event. Dedicated sessions will highlight their contributions to agriculture and examine opportunities to support continued growth and success in the sector. Speakers from different regions and backgrounds will share experiences and practical insights.

A special discussion will focus on the role of women in shaping the future of global agriculture. Industry representatives will explore common challenges, emerging opportunities and the importance of creating supportive environments for women working in farming and agribusiness.

The summit will also offer extensive networking opportunities. Attendees will have the chance to connect with industry professionals, exchange ideas and develop lasting relationships that extend beyond the event itself.

Recognition of excellence remains an important feature of the program. Awards will celebrate women who have demonstrated leadership, innovation and significant contributions to the agricultural industry. Special attention will be given to female farmers whose work has positively impacted their operations and communities.
