High Tunnel Production for Profit and Soil Health: Dan Perkins of Perkins Good Earth Farm shares strategies for maximizing production and maintaining soil health using no-till, compost beds, and cover crops.
Dan Perkins, known as the "Cover Crop Guy" in Northwest Indiana, has over 16 years of experience in organic and conventional crop management. His farm uses innovative methods to produce organic crops and serves a 200-member CSA, local markets, and wholesale accounts.
The workshop concludes with a grower panel where participants can share experiences and gain practical advice from peers. The event also includes networking opportunities during lunch and breaks to connect with vendors and fellow growers.
