Indiana Farm Bureau (INFB) is hosting its second annual Agricultural Contracting Program, offering a virtual workshop for farmers, landowners, and legal professionals.
The event will take place on Thursday, June 26, from 9 a.m. to noon Eastern Time. Registration is open until Tuesday, June 24, and is required to attend.
This workshop is designed to help participants better understand farmland leases, production contracts, and renewable energy agreements. The program is especially helpful for those new to agricultural contracts or looking to refresh their legal knowledge.
According to Mark Thornburg, INFB’s executive director of legal affairs, “Working through a contract or lease can often be a cumbersome and overwhelming task for farmers. This workshop is designed to help them feel more educated and better prepared.”
The session will feature presentations from leading experts in agricultural law. Topics include:
- Agricultural Contracting Basics with Todd Janzen of Janzen Schroeder Ag Law
- Agricultural Contracts by Harrison M. Pittman from the National Agricultural Law Center
- Renewable Energy Contracts by Brianna Schroeder of Janzen Schroeder Ag Law
The workshop is free for Indiana Farm Bureau members and costs $50 for non-members. Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits are being pursued for attending attorneys.
Sponsored by the Indiana Agricultural Law Foundation, the program supports legal education, research, and initiatives important to the state’s agricultural community. It helps build legal awareness around key farm issues and supports responsible land use through informed contracting.
This event is an opportunity for those in agriculture to gain essential knowledge about managing farmland agreements with confidence and clarity.
