Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch, serving as Indiana’s Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development, has announced the appointment of two new members to the Indiana Grown Commission. Krista Stillwell and Nanci Sears Perry join the Commission, bringing valuable knowledge and capacity to support the growth of Indiana businesses.
Krista Stillwell, the founder and chief strategist of Stillwell Brands since 2015, specializes in consulting with small to medium-sized businesses. Her expertise includes business strategy, social media, marketing, promotional strategy, and growth strategy. Stillwell's focus on creating and managing promotional and marketing needs aligns with Indiana Grown's mission to boost local businesses.
Nanci Sears Perry, serving as the Market Manager for Yorktown Farm and Artisan Market, contributes her experience in fostering community connections. The market, hosting weekly vendors, a Young Entrepreneur program, live music, food trucks, and monthly car shows, has become a hub for community engagement and small business growth.
Caroline Patrick, Director of Indiana Grown, expressed excitement about the unique expertise that Krista and Nanci bring to the Commission. As Indiana Grown enters its ninth year, the leadership of the Commission is expected to play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting the program's growth.
The Indiana Grown initiative, started by the Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA), promotes local products to the public. The Commission, now supported by new appointees, consists of 12 individuals, including ISDA Director Don Lamb and a diverse representation from various sectors such as hospitality, farming, marketing, and business strategy.
Lt. Governor Crouch emphasized the importance of the Indiana Grown Commission in representing different facets of the industry, ensuring the program's access to the best available resources for businesses.
The Commission's current members include representatives from Ivy Tech State College, Farm Bureau, economic development corporations, farmers' markets, restaurants, and more. Their expertise and diverse backgrounds contribute to the success and growth of Indiana Grown.
