Phillip Good, a soybean farmer from Macon, Mississippi, has been elected Chair of the United Soybean Board (USB) for 2025. The election took place during the board's December meeting in St. Charles, Missouri.

Good will lead alongside a team of ten additional farmer-leaders on the Executive Committee, all committed to advancing the soybean industry.

“It’s an honor to serve as Chair of the United Soybean Board,” said Good. “Our shared goal is to bring value back to soybean farmers. With 76 dedicated directors, we focus on strategies that ensure the greatest return for producers.”

Good highlighted the challenges faced by U.S. soybean farmers, particularly rising production costs. He emphasized the need for innovative solutions, including new export opportunities, advanced technologies, and job creation, to make a global impact and support farmers. “These efforts will create a ripple effect across the industry,” he added.

The USB Executive Committee includes:

Brent Gatton (Kentucky) – Vice Chair

Matt Gast (North Dakota) – Treasurer

Susan Watkins (Virginia) – Secretary

Ed Lammers (Nebraska)

Don Wyss (Indiana)

Robb Ewoldt (Iowa)

Tom Frisch (Minnesota)

Carla Schultz (Michigan)

Todd Hanten (South Dakota)

Steve Reinhard (Ohio) – Past Chair (Ex Officio)

Under Good’s leadership, the USB will continue exploring new markets and fostering advancements in the soybean sector. The board aims to support farmers in achieving sustainable growth and long-term profitability.
